Friendly reminder to inspect your Capsule first

When your Mushroom Capsule arrives, the first thing to do is look it over.

Fully colonized → The block looks solid white (or tan/brown lacquered for Reishi). No loose grains visible. → Ready to prep.

Condensation inside the bag is totally normal. A little amber liquid (“mycelium sweat”) is also fine.

Not fully colonized → Some uncolonized patches or bare grains still visible. → Go to Finish Colonization below.

⚠️ Possible contamination → Green fuzz, strange colors, or sour/rotten smell. → Isolate the bag and contact Support.

Unsure? → Use our guide below

⌛ Finish Colonization (only if needed)

If your block isn’t fully white yet:

  1. Don’t cut the bag.
  2. Place it in a spot at room temperature without direct sunlight/.
  3. Check every few days. Most blocks finish in 3–10 days.
  4. Once it’s evenly colonized, move to Prep & Cut.

1️⃣ Prep & Cut

  1. Wash your hands.
  2. Make sure to take a sterile/clean knife
  3. Make small cuts in the bag according to the label on top of your Capsule

2️⃣ Place in Sproushi

  1. Remove the grow tank lid
  2. Put the Capsule inside Sproushi’s grow tank, cut-side facing up.
  3. Select the grow program according to your species in either the app or using the touch screen on the device.
