Unlike plants, mushrooms don’t use light for photosynthesis. They don’t “eat” light.

But they do respond to it.

Inside Sproushi, the LED lights act as a growth signal — guiding your mushrooms on when and how to grow.

What is the optimal light plan setting?

Setting a light plan in the Sproushi mobile app is purely for the user’s convenience (e.g. set the time on and off according to your own bedtime routine)

As long as your Sproushi is not completely placed in the dark your mushroom will have plenty of exposure to light for it to grow to a healthy harvest.

🌱 What Light Actually Does for Mushrooms

Light influences:

In nature, mushrooms sense light when they reach the surface of soil or wood. That light tells them:

“You’ve reached open air. It’s time to fruit.”
