Never remove the plastic bag from your mushroom capsule

Your mushrooms only need a small opening to grow bountifully

🚀 Quick start

<aside> 📏

Capsule looks too big? It can handle a little squeeze. As long as Sproushi’s enclosures still fit around it, all should be good!

Got excess bag around your capsule? Simply wrap it under the bottom and then place your capsule inside Sproushi

✅ Got a Mushroom Capsule in a black bag? If the content inside feels solid (not like loose dirt) → Ready to grow.

✅ Got a Mushroom Capsule in a transparent bag? If white mycelium has spread throughout (or tan/brown lacquered for Reishi). → Ready to grow.

💧 Condensation inside the bag is totally normal. A little amber liquid (“mycelium sweat”) is also fine.

⚠️ Possible contamination → Green fuzz, strange colors, or sour/rotten smell. → Isolate the bag and contact Support.

📖 Detailed instructions

⌛ Finish Colonization (only if needed)

If your block doesn’t feel solid (black bag) or isn’t fully white yet (transparent bag):

  1. Don’t cut the bag.
  2. Place it in a spot at room temperature without direct sunlight/.
  3. Check every few days. Most blocks finish in 3–10 days.
  4. Once it’s evenly colonized, continue with the instructions below.

1️⃣ Place inside Sproushi

  1. Remove the grow tank lid → you will not be needing this anymore, it was designed for when we still had much smaller capsules in mind.
  2. Put your Capsule inside Sproushi’s grow tank. If there’s a label attached, make sure it’s facing up.
  3. Make sure to take a sterile/clean knife (wash thoroughly with dishwasher detergent)
  4. Cut an “X” on the side of the capsule that is facing up, this is where your mushrooms will grow.
